The Future Through Collaboration

A Defence Industry Initiative – To Grow & Enhance Capability

About Us

Who is TFTC?

TFTC is a joint initiative of Defence Industry thought leaders.

Realising the need for collaboration to tackle the challenges our industry faces, this group of pioneering defence organisations have come together with the collective goal – To grow and enhance capability.

Current members of TFTC:

  • Airservices
  • BAE Systems
  • Department of Defence
  • Jacobs Australia
  • Kinexus
  • Lockheed Martin
  • QinetiQ
  • Raytheon Australia
  • Royal Australian Navy

In 2015, TFTC launched its first initiative, the TFTC Mentoring Program. Due to the success of this program and the positive feedback received, the 2016 TFTC Mentoring Program supported more than double the participants of its inaugural year. The 2017 TFTC Mentoring Program is due to kick off in May with another increase in both participant numbers and participating organisations.

This unique collaborative effort sees the Defence Industry tackling the issue of diversity head on by supporting the attraction and development of females within the engineering discipline.

What is the TFTC Mentoring Program?

The TFTC Mentoring Program is a cross-industry mentoring program, providing female engineers with the opportunity to learn from their peers and superiors.

As a formal mentoring program, mentors and mentees are matched based on their goals, objectives and professional backgrounds. Through the course of 12 months they will meet on a monthly basis to discuss and plan how to actualise their goals.

Participants are provided with an induction training session and will be supported throughout the year with facilitated group sessions to encourage their success.

The program training and facilitated sessions are delivered by AltusQ, an expert in leadership, business coaching and mentoring programs.

Winner of the award for Support/Services at The Essington Lewis Awards

TFTC are honoured to be recipients of the 2017 Support/Services Award that was presented at the at the Defence + Industry Gala in Canberra on 14th June 2017. We wish to thank everyone involved in the program to date and The Essington Lewis Awards for the fantastic recognition.

The Essington Lewis Awards recognise excellence in the degree to which industry and CASG have worked together in a spirit of collaboration to overcome challenges or problems – ensuring that the ADF has or will have the material it needs, when it needs it, and at a cost that represents value for money.
